What can I expect when my pet is referred to a specialist veterinary surgeon?

Each visit will start with a detailed consultation and examination of your pet. Your surgeon will then have an in-depth discussion with you, planning any additional tests required for further investigation. If a surgical procedure is the best option for your pet, we will always endeavour to offer for this surgery to take place on the day of your appointment. For this reason, it is always best to ensure that your pet is fasted prior to consultation and not fed breakfast that morning. Sometimes we are presented with pets that require emergency care and surgery, which may cause elective procedures to be postponed to the next available slot. We ask for your understanding when a delay is unavoidable.
